Rent a studio in Cairo, by the hour
Most studio hire in Cairo starts with a phone call and a quote. This one starts with a rate.
UNO Production rents its room in El Mokattam, Cairo by the hour, seven days a week. The lighting is already rigged. Bring your own crew and run the session yourself, or add ours.
Two hours is the minimum booking.
What the room is
- Lighting rigged and ready. Nanlite throughout — FS-200 ×4, PavoTube 120 cm ×2 and 60 cm ×1, and two optical snoots for a hard, controlled beam.
- Power, wifi and air conditioning. Cairo in summer makes the last one matter more than it sounds.
- A fitting room, and San Diego — the outdoor set — as well as the indoor rooms.
- Free parking, and free coffee — ours, all day, however long the booking runs.
The three areas
Three areas on one site, and each one holds several different setups — so a single booking can look like several different places.
| Area | Per hour | What is in it |
|---|---|---|
| Los Angeles | 500 | the main room, with four or five separate setups |
| Orange County | 900 | more setups again, and the California kitchen — a real one you can cook and shoot in |
| San Diego | 700 | outdoors: walls, a water fountain and stones, usable all day |
| Los Angeles + San Diego | 1,200 | the main room and the outdoor area together |
Two hours minimum on any area, and the day discounts apply: 10% off six hours, 20% off ten.
San Diego — the outdoor set
700 an hour, available all day — the cheapest of the three areas, and the one with the most variety in it. Three separate backdrops:
- Walls — texture, a clean vertical, the easiest thing to light a person against
- A water fountain — movement and sound in frame, the one thing you cannot fake indoors
- Stones — rough and natural, the opposite of a studio wall
Which is the real point: between the three areas there are far more looks than one booking needs. Getting that variety anywhere else means several locations, several setups, travel between them and usually a permit for at least one. Here it is a walk across the same site.
California — and the kitchen
900 an hour, and it includes a working California kitchen. If you shoot food, recipes, cooking, appliances or anything that needs a real worktop and a real hob, that is rare in a hire studio in Cairo — most food content here is shot in somebody's flat.
Three ways to book it
Location only. The room, the lighting, the power. You bring the cameras, the crew and the people. The cheapest way in, and the right one if you already have a team.
Location plus shooting. The room and our crew. We film what you need and hand over the footage. Two crew come as standard.
Location, shooting and montage. Everything above plus the edit, so you leave with finished video rather than a card full of files.
All three are on the prices page.
What people shoot here
- Podcasts, with two or three cameras — see the podcast setup
- Reels and short-form for brands and creators — see reels production
- Product video and photography on a clean background
- Interviews and talking-head content for companies
- Food and cooking, in the California kitchen — a real worktop and hob, not a prop
- And nothing is ruled out: no height restriction, no noise rule, no cap on crew size worth warning you about. If you are unsure the room suits your shoot, send the idea and we will tell you.
Why hourly matters
A half-day minimum is how most studios price, and it is why a two-hour shoot costs four hours. If you need the room for ninety minutes, pay for ninety minutes. The minimum is two hours, at 500 an hour. A half day of 6 hours is 2,700 (10% off, 450 an hour) and a full day of 10 hours is 4,000 (20% off, 400 an hour). Booking longer genuinely costs less per hour, which is the point.
Where it is
El Mokattam, Cairo — open every day, 10am to 10pm.
Clients drive in from New Cairo, Maadi, Nasr City and across east Cairo — directions, parking and drive times. Hadaba El Wosta — first floor, next to Orchid Designs, with big UNO Production signs.

Questions people ask before booking
How much does it cost to rent a studio in Cairo per hour? From 500 EGP an hour, two-hour minimum. Half day (6 hours) 2,700; full day (10 hours) 4,000.
What is the minimum booking? Two hours, on any of the three areas.
Can I bring my own crew and equipment? Yes. That is location-only hire — the room and the lighting, everything else is yours.
Do you have a green screen? Yes — a flat chroma wall, and not only green: white, black, pink and burgundy too, with other colours on request. See the chroma studio.
How far ahead should I book? A day is enough. Message the day before and you will almost always get the slot you want. Longer notice helps for a full day or a particular area, but nobody needs to plan a week out.
What happens if I cancel? A 50% deposit holds the booking. The deposit is not refundable, but you can move the date if you tell us at least 24 hours before.
