Green screen and chroma studio in Cairo — any colour
A green screen is only as good as the light on it. A badly lit chroma wall gives an editor green spill on everyone's hair and a key that takes longer to fix than the shoot took to film.
UNO Production has a chroma setup in El Mokattam, Cairo, lit for a clean key, available by the hour seven days a week — and not only green: green, white, black, pink and burgundy, with another colour on request if you tell us ahead. That matters more than it sounds. Half the time you do not want to key at all — you want the colour itself behind the subject, and a studio that only owns green forces you into an edit you did not need.
It is a flat chroma wall, lit separately from the subject — which is the part that actually decides whether a key is clean. For a full-body shot the floor shows, so plan the frame for the waist up or bring a matching floor; most reels, interviews and talking-head work never need more.
What you get
- The chroma surface, lit evenly and lit separately from the subject — the single thing that decides whether the key is clean.
- Separate subject lighting, so the person is lit independently of the background. That is the whole difference between a clean key and green edges.
- The room by the hour, same as any other booking — see studio rental
- Crew optional. Bring your own or add ours.
- Edit optional. We can key and composite, or hand over the footage for you to key. Keying and compositing are done here, in-house — not sent out — and quoted per project once we know how many clips and what goes behind them.
What people use it for
- Course and training video — a presenter over slides or graphics
- Product and e-commerce video needing a swapped background
- Ads where the background changes per market or per language
- Virtual sets for interviews and corporate content
- Explainer formats where the graphic is the point
Green screen, or a real background
Worth saying plainly, because it costs us some bookings and keeps the right ones:
Use chroma when the background has to change, has to be a graphic, or has to look like somewhere you cannot film. That is what it is for.
Do not use chroma when a plain backdrop would do. A clean wall is faster, cheaper, and there is no key to go wrong. If that is your shoot, book the room on its own and keep the difference.

Questions people ask before booking
How much is a green screen studio in Cairo? 900 EGP an hour with the room, any colour, two-hour minimum — self-operated. A half day of 6 hours is 4,860, a full day of 10 hours is 7,200.
With our crew it is 1,500 an hour, the same as any crewed shoot — no chroma surcharge. Two operators for 600 more an hour, on the one setup where lighting the screen evenly decides whether the key is clean. The edit is 300 per reel.
Do you key and composite it, or do I? Either. We key and composite in-house if you want the finished video, or you take the raw files and do it yourself.
What should I wear? Nothing green, and nothing reflective — both ruin a key. Avoid fine stripes and small patterns too; they shimmer at the edges.
How long does the setup take? Barely any. The chroma wall is already up and already lit — that is the whole point of booking a room instead of building one — so you are shooting within minutes of arriving instead of paying for an hour of someone rigging lights.
